About the role
Trego / Dugan Aviation is hiring part-time, cross-utilized agents to perform both Passenger Service and Ramp Agent duties at Gulf Shores Airport (GUF).
Responsibilities
Passenger Service Agent
- Provide total customer service to all passengers, including handling inquiries, completing transactions, and assisting with boarding.
- Process tickets, check baggage, monitor carry-on baggage for size and quantity, and assign seats.
- Provide information on arrival/departure times, boarding procedures, carry-on regulations, and seating arrangements.
- Handle denied boarding situations, solicit volunteers, accommodate passengers, and provide hotel, meal, and taxi vouchers when appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with FAA, airline, and airport regulations; enforce safety and security measures.
- Assist passengers with special needs, such as those requiring boarding assistance.
- Complete sales reports and perform ad hoc assignments as requested by leads or supervisors.
- Work efficiently under time constraints with excellent communication skills.
Ramp Service Agent
- Handle customer luggage, including loading and unloading baggage on and off aircraft.
- Marshal aircraft to and from gates and operate ground service equipment (GSE) such as tugs and belt loaders.
- Service arriving and departing flights, assist passengers with special needs, and support customer service agents as needed.
- Perform aircraft interior cleaning, lavatory servicing, and commissary duties.
- Conduct aircraft and commissary security searches.
- Ensure ramp areas are safe, free of foreign object debris (FOD), and that ground equipment is properly maintained.
- Follow safety regulations, including proper use of ground equipment and wearing required safety gear.
- Communicate using a two-way radio.
Requirements
- Must be people-oriented, highly motivated, and maintain a positive and friendly attitude.
- Must have open availability to work varied hours, including swing and graveyard shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the U.S. as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986.
- Able to read and write English; bilingual skills are a plus.
- Must pass a ten-year background check and pre-employment drug test.
- Able to attend required training.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to carry a 70-pound suitcase from the floor to 18 inches and carry it in front of you with both hands for up to 25 feet.
- Must have physical dexterity to perform repetitive tasks, including bending at the waist and knees, squatting, kneeling, crawling, and twisting, and sustain these positions for extended periods.
- Must have sufficient vision and ability to perform the essential functions of the position safely.
- Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment.
