PT Assistant Basketball Coach

Duties

• Recruiting players
• Holding tryouts
• Coaching the intercollegiate basketball team
• Instructing players in rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques
• Ensuring compliance with NJCAA Division II rules, including scholarship offerings
• Understanding and enforcing NJCAA basketball rules and student-athlete eligibility requirements
• Traveling with the team (unless approved)
• Driving vans to basketball games (if required)
• Attending annual NJCAA Region IV meetings (if required)
• Promoting academic success of student-athletes
• Maintaining academic performance of team members to ensure eligibility requirements are met
• Encouraging student athletes to maintain a high academic standard
• Conducting oneself professionally at all times
• Flexible hours for practicing and recruiting
• Ability to travel on weekends to recruit perspective student-athletes
• Flexibility to participate in camps

Qualifications

• High school diploma, college education preferred
• Coaching experience at the high school level or above
• Basketball coaching experience at the college level desired
• College recruiting experience desired
• First aid/CPR certification plus
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning, and leadership skills
• Positive role model for young adults
• Familiarity with NJCAA rules and regulations plus
• Clean driving record preferred
