PT ASSISTANT

About the role

The Physical Therapist Assistant performs selected patient treatments with the instruction from Leader of Rehabilitation Services who supervises the Staff Physical Therapist. This role involves utilizing, supervising, instructing, and evaluating supportive staff, volunteers, and students.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients and equipment for treatment
• Helps perform the housekeeping duties of the department/facility
• Performs other diverse duties as requested or required

Requirements

• One-year clinical experience preferred; entry level acceptable if individual skills are above average
• Current or pending state licensure or certification
• Associate degree in Physical Therapy or graduate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Current CPR certification is required
• Must have current license if applicable

• Ability to apply the theory of physical therapy
• Able to operate necessary equipment and perform technical procedures
• Able to speak intelligently and professionally
• Able to supervise and manage staff
• Able to handle patients safely and efficiently
• Able to assist in emergency situations and adapt to changes in patient conditions
• Able to follow instructions and correct feedback
• Able to work with a variety of patients from different backgrounds

Pay

Expected pay for this position is $26.06-$39.09. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity.
