About the School

Saint Patrick Academy (SPA) is a co-educational Independent Catholic school serving students from Pre-K 3 through 8th grade in Portsmouth, NH. The Lower School includes Pre-Kindergarten through 4th grade, and the Middle School houses grades 5–8. About the Role

The Part-Time Art Teacher will plan and deliver an engaging visual arts program that inspires creativity, imagination, and artistic expression in students across multiple grade levels. The teacher will introduce students to a variety of artistic media, techniques, and art history while fostering confidence, critical thinking, and an appreciation for the creative process.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a visual arts curriculum for Pre-K through 8th grade students.
• Introduce students to diverse artistic media, techniques, and art history.
• Create a positive, student-centered classroom environment that encourages artistic development.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate cross-curricular connections.
• Showcase student artwork through school displays and events.
• Incorporate project-based learning, social-emotional learning, and differentiated instruction.
• Demonstrate meaningful use of technology to enhance authentic learning experiences.
• Support the Catholic mission and faith-based environment of the school.

Requirements

• Experience teaching art to elementary and/or middle school students.
• Passion for nurturing creativity in young learners.
• Skills in curriculum development and instruction.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with colleagues and the community.
• Willingness to work in a faith-based environment and support the Catholic mission.
