About the role

Chesapeake Treatment Center, a 29-bed residential treatment center for adolescent and young adult males located in Parkville, MD (near Towson), has an immediate opening for a full-time Expressive Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Utilize various creative art forms like music, dance, art, drama, and writing as therapeutic tools to help clients explore and express their emotions, facilitating healing and personal growth by providing a safe space to process complex feelings through creative expression.
• Collaborates with Department of Juvenile Justice
• Collaborates with unit staff
• Provides crisis intervention
• Demonstrate an understanding and sensitivity to serving a culturally diverse and/or special needs population

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Driver's License
• Ability to work two days out of a month on the weekends

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Bilingual
• Experience working with emotionally disturbed adolescents/young adults
