Pt. Access Rep. Part Time - Free Standing ED-Deerfield
Employment Type: Full time (part-time position in ER Registration at Deerfield Beach, Free-Standing ED)
Responsibilities
- Register patients by obtaining necessary and accurate financial and demographic information.
- Receive, investigate, and respond to various inquiries and questions in a pleasant and helpful manner.
- Determine the financial status of the patient and/or guarantor and complete all financial/insurance-related functions and signatures.
- Communicate with third-party payors, obtain insurance benefits, and secure insurance authorizations.
- Collect money due from patients at admission or, in the ER setting, prior to discharge.
- Complete all necessary reports.
- Communicate with Case Management, Patient Financial Services, Self/Pay/Medicaid Eligibility Team, and all other departments when appropriate.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate's degree preferred or in the process of obtaining one.
- Must possess excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task.
Qualifications
- Certified Patient Account Technician (CPAT) preferred, but not required.
