Psychotherapy Practitioner in MBT - Personality Disorder and Homelessness Team
About the role
The role involves covering maternity leave for a full-time Fixed Term/Secondment position for 9 months. This position is based within the Personality Disorder and Homelessness Team, located in NW Glasgow, and includes working in various locations within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC).
Responsibilities
- Functioning as a Named therapist within a multi-disciplinary team for a complex patient caseload requiring specialist mental health care.
- Carrying out holistic assessments of complex care needs, including risk assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating specialist programs of care with specific reference to Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT).
- Identifying, coordinating, and responding to health promotion needs of patients, focusing on improving their mental and physical well-being.
- Identifying, coordinating, and responding to the needs of patients related to vulnerability, gender, health, domestic abuse, adult/child protection, and/or self-harm.
- Developing therapeutic relationships with patients and carers with complex/unstable care needs, ensuring needs are identified and met within a participative framework.
- Working within agreed competency-based parameters, undertaking evidence-based psychological therapies/psychological approaches to care with individuals and/or group settings.
Requirements
- Professional qualification in one of the core mental health professions or equivalent practitioner training and experience in a relevant discipline.
- Completion of an evidence-based psychological therapies/psychological approaches to inform clinical practice.
- Specialist knowledge and application of mental health care (including physical healthcare).
- Specialist knowledge and application of risk assessment/factors impacting mental health/wellness and recovery.
- Evidence of active and ongoing CPD.
Qualifications and/or experience
- Essential: Professional qualification in one of the core mental health professions or equivalent practitioner training and experience in a relevant discipline.
- Desirable: Actively working towards postgraduate level/ or equivalent; completed a recognised mentorship preparation program/registered mentor.
