Psychotherapist (Child and Adolescent Psychiatry)

Position Summary

Provide diagnostic assessment and evidence-based, time-limited psychotherapy intervention to children, teens, and their families with a variety of psychiatric conditions including depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, and behavioral disorders. Actively collaborate with other Child-Adolescent Psychiatry team members to manage caseloads and provide optimal mental health care for a diverse patient population.

Basic Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy or equivalent
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor-MHSP, or Licensed Marital and Family Therapist

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains professional documentation which meets departmental and VUMC standards as it relates to compliance.
  • Provides targeted interventions for identified clients via in person and teletherapy services.
  • Completes psychosocial assessment and assists team with the development and implementation of the plan of care.
  • Meet regularly with team leaders to discuss caseload progression.
  • Will be expected to discharge and accept new clients on an ongoing basis.
  • Provides education and or consultation to clients, treatment team and community.
  • Attends division and department meetings as scheduled via Zoom or in person as appropriate.
