About the role
The West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry seek a Psychologist at William R. Sharpe, Jr. Hospital in Weston, WV. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive psychological assessments and evidence-based treatment for adults with psychiatric diagnoses, including forensic cases. They will collaborate with psychiatrists, clinical social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. The position may also involve supervision and mentorship for WVU Psychiatry residents, forensic fellows, and trainees from other disciplines. The position supports the hospital's commitment to quality care for involuntarily committed patients, fostering recovery and rehabilitation.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive psychological assessments and evidence-based treatment for adults with psychiatric diagnoses, including forensic cases.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, clinical social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Serve as a mentor and supervisor for WVU Psychiatry residents, forensic fellows, and trainees from other disciplines.
- Support the hospital's commitment to quality care for involuntarily committed patients, fostering recovery and rehabilitation.
Qualifications
- Candidate must have a PhD or PsyD degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state psychology license.
- Must have completed APA/CPA accredited clinical psychology graduate program, with an APA/CPA accredited internship.
- Eligible to sit for ABPP in clinical psychology.
- Immediate eligibility for licensure in West Virginia is required.
