About the role
The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) is seeking psychologists to support their mission of rehabilitation and mental wellness. Positions are offered on a hybrid schedule combining set onsite and remote workdays.
Responsibilities
- Guiding staff on the use of standardized processes to assess and gather data to develop comprehensive profiles and needs for individuals at risk for violence.
- Design and implement individualized and group intervention programs based on best practices for violence reduction.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create holistic approaches that address underlying issues contributing to violent behavior.
- Collect and analyze data related to program outcomes, making adjustments as needed to improve efficacy.
- Psychological testing and evaluation.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Doctorate in Psychology with a psychologist license by the Nebraska Department of Health.
- Required clinical internship plus one year experience as a licensed psychologist with management experience.
- Preferred subject matter experience.
Other: Proof of licensure required upon acceptance of a job offer. Must submit to a security background check. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the pre-employment medical exam and a drug test. Once employed, all incumbents must successfully complete the fully paid Nebraska Department of Correctional Services pre-service training program.
Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
