About the role

The Department of Psychology at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) seeks part-time lecturers to teach in various psychology subjects. CSUSB is a diverse institution with a focus on serving first-generation college students and fostering an inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Teach general psychology, biological psychology/neuroscience, clinical psychology, cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, social psychology, and statistics.
  • Work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
  • Interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
  • Teach at either the Palm Desert or San Bernardino campus and be available during the academic term.
  • Be open to teaching a variety of courses as needed.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field at the time of employment and demonstrate evidence of teaching promise. Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching. A Ph.D. or extensive professional experience is desirable for teaching upper-division courses (300- or 400-level) and required for 500-level graduate courses.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Psychology or related field.
  • Evidence of teaching promise.
  • Prior teaching experience at the college or university level.
  • Strong teaching skills.
  • Ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
  • Experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.

Pay

Lecturer A (Range 2): $5,507 – $6,677
Lecturer B (Range 3): $6,221 – $13,224
Lecturer C (Range 4): $6,825 – $14,523
Lecturer D (Range 5): $8,593 – $15,211

Schedule

This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary and all appointments are temporary. Staffing decisions are made on a rolling basis typically beginning a few months prior to the start of an academic term right up to the beginning of the academic term.
