About the Role
This position is for a Psychologist, CF located at the California Health Care Facility PIP (CHCF PIP) in Stockton, San Joaquin County. Main communication for this role will be via email.
Under the general direction of the Senior Psychologist, Correctional Facility (Supervisor), the Psychologist-Clinical, Correctional Facility is responsible for a range of clinical and programmatic duties within the institution.
Responsibilities
- Conduct preadmission screenings and psychological evaluations of inmates admitted to the program.
- Provide crisis intervention, individual therapy, treatment, and discharge planning.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team evaluations and consult with psychiatrists, nursing staff, and other professionals.
- Assign clinical duties throughout the institution, including participation in staff meetings, institutional committees, and consultations with custody staff.
- Supervise and train students, interns, unlicensed psychologists, and other staff.
- Participate in program evaluation and research, including consultation on research design and data analysis.
Pay
This classification is subject to Section 5, Hiring-Above-Minimum (HAM) Authorization of the California State Civil Service Pay Scales. The authorized HAM rates are:
- P: $11,496 per month
- Q: $13,937 per month
A 15% pay differential applies to employees physically located at and assigned to the Psychiatric Inpatient Program who provide direct patient care more than 50% of the pay period.
Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) reduces the base salary of full-time employees in Bargaining Unit 19 by 3% in exchange for 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Part-time and permanent intermittent employees are subject to prorated conditions.
Eligible new hires may receive:
- A $10,000 one-time recruitment and retention stipend after six months of employment.
- A monthly recruitment and retention differential during their first year (totaling $20,000).
CDCR and CCHCS employees may be eligible for a $5,000 referral bonus if the selected candidate remains employed for 90 days.
