The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team and spend the majority of their time providing direct clinical services to students, including initial appointments, crisis intervention, individual counseling, and psychological assessments within the Counseling and Mental Health Center’s established clinical model.

About the role

The CMHC offers a broad range of clinical services, including group counseling, psychological assessment, alcohol and other drug programming, biofeedback, and trauma-informed treatments. In addition, the psychologist will:

  • Design and implement educational outreach programs
  • Provide consultation about psychological issues to the campus community
  • Serve in at least one liaison role to a campus partner
  • Provide clinical supervision and training for doctoral interns in the APA-accredited internship program
  • Respond to critical campus incidents or outreach requests

Required Experience

  • Experience providing clinical services to adults
  • Experience providing risk assessment and crisis interventions
  • Experience working with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment

Required Education

  • PhD or PsyD in Counseling/Clinical Psychology from an APA Accredited Program

Required Other

  • Eligibility for licensure as a psychologist in the State of Idaho within one year of hire
  • Ability to work nonstandard business hours which may include evenings, weekends and holidays

Additional Preferred Experience

  • Experience providing comprehensive psychological assessment with adults evaluating for Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Learning Disorders, and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Experience working with individuals impacted by alcohol or other drug use, particularly in early adult populations
  • Experience working with biofeedback
  • Certified or significant training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Strong clinical skills, interest, and experience providing psychotherapy to a student population
  • Professional skills and commitment to working with students, colleagues, and stakeholders

Pay

$85,000 or higher depending on experience
