About the role

The Department Alfred Mental & Addiction Health operates services focusing on people with mental illness in the Inner Southeastern area of Melbourne. The Adult In-Patient team comprises dedicated nursing, allied health, lived experience, and medical staff who work together to deliver timely and effective treatments for acute mental health issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide discipline-specific assessments and interventions, including behavior support to consumers of Acute Psychiatry.
• Assess and implement best practice treatments for psychosis and personality disorders.
• Work collaboratively with the treating team to ensure personalized, safe, and effective treatment plans for mental and physical health recovery.
• Participate in professional development sessions and case presentations at Alfred Psychology Department and St Kilda Road Clinic.

Requirements

• Registration under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009.
• Endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009.
• A Master or doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology.
• Membership of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the APS College of Clinical Psychologists is desirable.

Qualifications/Experience

• Master or doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology.
• Endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009.
• Registration under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009.
• Desirable: Membership of the APS and the APS College of Clinical Psychologists.
