Job Duties
- Provide comprehensive treatment to patients adjudicated NGRI.
- Comprehensive risk assessment and risk management strategies.
- Necessary forensic report writing for progression through the graduated privileging process.
- Initial and ongoing psychological assessments.
- Treatment sessions addressing relevant risk management issues and treatment issues.
- Treatment planning through core membership on a treatment team.
- Psychotherapy groups.
- Behavioral consultation and program development as needed.
- May provide supervision and training for students (intern and practicum).
Qualifications
- Experience with coordination of psychological services for each patient on caseload.
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities for the delivery of psychological practice and principals with a specific focus on risk assessment and risk management.
- Knowledge of hospital/community/agency resources and ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Understanding of those adjudicated Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity and the graduated privileging process, with specific emphasis on their respective treatment needs.
- Knowledge of how persons with mental illness encounter the legal and criminal justice systems.
Additional Considerations
- Licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Forensic training through the Institute of Law, Psychiatry, and Public Policy (ILPPP).
Pay and Benefits
Hiring Range: $102,726 - $148,455
