Psychologist

Job Duties

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients adjudicated NGRI.
• Comprehensive risk assessment and risk management strategies.
• Necessary forensic report writing for progression through the graduated privileging process.
• Initial and ongoing psychological assessments.
• Treatment sessions addressing relevant risk management issues and treatment issues.
• Treatment planning through core membership on a treatment team.
• Psychotherapy groups.
• Behavioral consultation and program development as needed.
• May provide supervision and training for students (intern and practicum).

Qualifications

• Experience with coordination of psychological services for each patient on caseload.
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities for the delivery of psychological practice and principals with a specific focus on risk assessment and risk management.
• Knowledge of hospital/community/agency resources and ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Understanding of those adjudicated Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity and the graduated privileging process, with specific emphasis on their respective treatment needs.
• Knowledge of how persons with mental illness encounter the legal and criminal justice systems.

Additional Considerations

• Licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Forensic training through the Institute of Law, Psychiatry, and Public Policy (ILPPP).

Pay and Benefits

Hiring Range: $102,726 - $148,455
