About the role

The psychologist provides mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention for adult and/or child members with diverse psychiatric needs. They collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and evaluate individualized treatment plans, including outpatient psychotherapy for individuals, families, and groups.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychological assessments, administer and interpret tests, and prepare treatment summaries.
  • Maintain confidential records in compliance with regulations.
  • Support medication evaluation in partnership with physicians.
  • Utilize community resources for member care and referrals.
  • Provide psychoeducation and family support.
  • Supervise trainees and staff as required.
  • Contribute to program development and participate in departmental activities.
  • Report safety concerns as needed.

Key Duties

  • Develop and evaluate treatment programs for mental health conditions.
  • Provide outpatient psychotherapy and psychoeducation.
  • Conduct psychological assessments and interpret results.
  • Collaborate with physicians on medication management.
  • Utilize community resources for member support and referrals.
  • Supervise trainees and staff as appropriate.
  • Support member families and ensure adherence to therapeutic regimens.
  • Participate in departmental program development and safety reporting.

Requirements

  • PhD, PsyD, or EdD in Clinical, Counseling, Health, or School Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed Psychologist (California or any state) within six months of hire; National Provider Identifier required.
  • Familiarity with DSM-V, psychological testing, and evidence-based practices.
  • Strong diagnostic, individual, family, and group therapy skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with professional maturity and ethical integrity.
  • Knowledge of social services, regulations, and confidentiality standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
