About the role

The Missouri Department of Mental Health seeks an entry-level licensed professional to coordinate and manage the assessment and treatment of mental illnesses. This role may involve functioning as a Certified Forensic Examiner and providing behavioral health services including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements individual treatment plans specifying type, frequency, intensity, and duration of therapy.
• Treats and counsels clients using various treatment methods to assist in behavior modification.
• Writes reports on clients and evaluates the effectiveness of counseling or other treatments, modifying plans and diagnoses as necessary.
• Conducts court-ordered evaluations and provides testimony in court proceedings.

Requirements

• Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
• Absenteeism should be minimized.
• No disciplinary action in the previous 12 months.
• Licensure and 3-5 years of experience as a Psychologist preferred.
• May possess a post-doctoral specialty such as neuropsychology, forensic psychology, or geriatric psychology.
• Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis for denying consideration.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of individual differences, such as personality theory, human development, and abnormal psychology.
• Knowledge of departmental protocols and legal requirements in assessing and treating forensic patients.
• Ability to conduct individual and group interventions.
