Psychiatry Medical Director - Behavioral Health Services
About the Role
Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Medical Director for Behavioral Health Services to join our growing behavioral health team. This is an inpatient position with primary oversight and coverage responsibilities for inpatient, outpatient, and facility consult services.
- Serve as Medical Director for Behavioral Health Services at Piedmont Macon
- Supervise mid-level providers (APPs)
- Opportunities to pick up additional shifts for consults via telehealth and/or in-person across the Piedmont system
- Supervision of medical students and psychiatry residents
- Use of Epic EMR
Expected schedule: 5 days (Monday–Friday), with assistance for weekend and night call as needed.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry
- Active or eligible for medical licensure in Georgia
- Three (3) years of experience required
- Experience supervising APPs is preferred
- Strong clinical, administrative, and physician leadership skills
- Previous experience with ketamine and TMS preferred
- Experience treating both adults and adolescents preferred
