Overview
Prime Healthcare is seeking a compassionate, board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist to join their dynamic Behavioral Health team at Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, Illinois.
Responsibilities
- Practice Setting: Primarily inpatient focus with opportunities in their dedicated 95-bed acute mental health unit within a 292-bed acute care hospital. Outpatient services may also be available based on interest.
- Scope: Deliver comprehensive psychiatric care to adults, including diagnostic evaluations, medication management, treatment planning, and close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team (nurses, therapists, social workers, and advanced practice providers).
- Schedule: Flexible schedule with a mix of inpatient rounding and consultations, 36 patient-facing hours a week.
- Support: Robust administrative and clinical infrastructure in a physician-friendly, mission-driven environment backed by the Prime Healthcare network.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (ABPN)
- Current Illinois medical license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Valid DEA registration
- Strong clinical skills in adult inpatient psychiatry preferred
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities with a passion for patient-centered behavioral health care

- Reasonable Compensation Estimate: $300,000.00 to $350,000.00 on an annualized basis.
