About the Role

This outpatient psychiatrist position involves providing psychiatric care for adult patients within a correctional facility. The clinician will work full-time day shifts, totaling 40 hours per week, on-site at a correctional facility in South Carolina. The role offers a structured clinical environment with established protocols and an opportunity to deliver mental health care in a unique correctional setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient psychiatric services to adult patients in a correctional setting
• Manage a variable caseload with responsibilities including initial evaluations and follow-ups
• Conduct rounding on patients with severe mental illnesses
• Perform correctional evaluations as needed
• Work collaboratively with support staff to ensure continuity of care

Requirements

• Prescriptive authority is required
• Ability to handle adult outpatient psychiatric conditions, including severe mental illness
• Strong clinical skills in evaluations, medication management, and follow-up

Qualifications

• Board certification is not required

Team & Support

The role is supported by a team consisting of one Psychiatric MD and one FNP.

Schedule

Full-time day shifts, totaling 40 hours per week. No call required.
