About the role

Join an inpatient psychiatric facility as a locum tenens psychiatrist, providing full-time services to patients of all ages during day shifts. This short-term assignment offers an opportunity to work in a structured environment supporting continuity of psychiatric care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations
• Provide medication management
• Treat a wide range of mental health conditions, including suicidal ideation and self-harm

Requirements

• Prescriptive authority
• Active Alaska medical license
• Relevant clinical experience in inpatient settings
• Strong communication skills

Work Environment

Support is provided by a multidisciplinary team, including RNs, LPNs, and Therapists. The caseload is variable, with an average inpatient stay of around 30 days. The position offers flexible call coverage options, with work primarily on-site for 40 hours per week.
