About the role
Capital Health is seeking an Inpatient Psychiatrist to join their growing behavioral health team. This is an excellent opportunity to practice within a collaborative health system committed to providing high-quality, comprehensive care to patients throughout Central New Jersey and the surrounding region.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and individualized treatment plans.
- Provide ongoing medication management and psychiatric care for patients with a broad range of behavioral health conditions.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team.
- Coordinate behavioral health treatment with primary care and specialty providers when appropriate.
- Participate in treatment planning, case consultation, and continuity-of-care initiatives.
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and ongoing behavioral health needs.
- Support Capital Health’s commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based behavioral healthcare.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency program.
- Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry.
- Open to Consultation Liaison duties on inpatient med/surg unit.
- Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted New Jersey medical license.
- Eligible for appropriate prescribing credentials, including DEA registration.
