Psychiatrist - Inpatient

About the Role
Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and/or medication. Provides clinical services to patients at the facility. Practices within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate and facility policies or procedures.
- Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and offer medical recommendations.
- Evaluate patients for mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
- Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
- Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, document services and information in a timely manner.
- Maintain confidential documentation, compliance, and billing in accordance with policy and procedures.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
- One or more years’ post-graduate degree practice preferred.
- Licensed in the state in which the facility operates.
- Board certification in psychiatry.
- Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state of practice.
