Psychiatrist, Correctional (1099)

About the role

The Psychiatrist will provide extensive psychiatric services or work in a review, evaluation, or consultative capacity for a correctional facility in Dublin, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Leading Psychiatry Services staff (Psychiatrist and NPs and Quality Assurance review/audit staff)
  • Supervising NPs
  • Attendance and/or facilitation of onsite meetings and trainings
  • Operations oversight, scheduling, QA duties
  • Policy and Procedures review, input and design
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of twelve (12) continuous months of experience within the last three (3) years performing services similar in scope to those defined herein
  • 2-3 references
  • All Psychiatrists must be able to speak, understand oral and written communication and write effectively in the English language

  • Ability to follow through on instructions, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and efficiently in a timely manner

Benefits

  • Hybrid work schedule with 3 days a week in facility and remote for remainer of the 1-2 workdays will be considered based on the needs of program operations

Pay

Pay Rate: $295/hr

Schedule

  • Hours may vary and are 7:00am to 6:00pm, some are 8- or 10-hour shifts

Additional Information

  • Dual role of leading Psychiatry Services staff (Psychiatrist and NPs and Quality Assurance review/audit staff), supervising NPs
  • Will NOT be providing direct patient/client care
  • Client has an electronic medical record system, so candidates must be computer literate, navigate between various EMR applications including Microsoft products and good key board skills
  • Client prefers at least a six-month starting minimum assignment with the option to extend
  • Will consider extending if a good fit for the program and locum provider
  • Client prefers doctors who have correctional or county jail work experience and previous lead experience is a plus
  • Desirable qualifications include interest and commitment in community psychiatry
