Psychiatrist – Adult Inpatient

Job Description

University Health Physicians and University Health is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to join their medical staff and provide psychiatric services primarily at their TMC BHAC (inpatient psychiatric unit).

• Lead a multi-disciplinary team including psychiatry residents, medical students, psychologists, nurses, recreational therapists, and medical social workers.
• Occasional supplemental coverage on TMC BHAC and/or TMC Consultation Liaison Service (CL) when staff is on vacation.
• Opportunity to act as primary collaborating physician with one or more psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners (PMNHP/APRN) and receive an additional stipend.
• Opportunity to rotate as primary TMC CL attending for that teaching service and provide care at NKC BHAC in a hospitalist/non-teaching role.

Participation in the call system is required, which involves approximately 1 weekend per month, 2 out of every 3 months, for additional pay.

Participation in hospital-based committees and providing lectures to other medical specialties is encouraged.

Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have graduated from an accredited medical school and completed a residency in psychiatry.
