Psychiatrist - Adult/Geriatric, Outpatient

Role Overview Seeking an Adult (Geriatric) Psychiatry psychiatrist specializing in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of mental, emotional, and addictive disorders in older populations. The role involves understanding the biological, psychological, and social aspects of illness to provide comprehensive care. Key Responsibilities Conduct outpatient interviews to assess symptoms, medical histories, and family backgrounds.Diagnose conditions and develop individualized treatment plans, including prescribing medications.Order and interpret diagnostic tests, maintain detailed records, and evaluate treatment outcomes.Possibly provide supervision or teaching for graduate medical education. Qualifications & Skills Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine degree is required.Board certification or eligibility in Geriatric Psychiatry is preferred.Ability to perform clinical assessments, interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications.Interest or experience in teaching and mentoring in a clinical setting. This position involves working primarily in a clinical and office environment, adhering to organizational policies, and contributing to a collaborative, patient-centered care approach.
