About the role
Kingsboro Psychiatric Center (KPC), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited hospital, is recruiting a Psychiatrist 3 to provide clinical and administrative oversight of medical staff assigned to adult inpatient units.
Responsibilities
- Providing clinical and administrative supervision of up to fifteen (15) medical staff including psychiatrists, psychologists, and medical specialists.
- Collaborating with outpatient services to ensure and develop care that spans the recovery process from inpatient through outpatient and residential services.
- Attending and participating in clinical team meetings.
- Conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments including diagnosis, treatment plans, medication management, and counseling.
- Participating in policy development and collaborating to ensure policy adherence for inpatient units.
- Overseeing the quality of treatment services provided by medical staff and ensuring compliance with federal, state, Joint Commission, and OMH standards.
- Overseeing recruitment and onboarding of psychiatrists.
Requirements
- Possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State;
- Certification in psychiatry by the ABPN;
- Two (2) years of post-board certification experience as a member of the psychiatric staff in a psychiatric hospital and/or in the psychiatry department of a general hospital, one (1) year of which must have included clinical supervision of other psychiatrists, psychiatric residents, or fellows.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State;
- Certification in psychiatry by the ABPN;
- Two (2) years of post-board certification experience as a member of the psychiatric staff in a psychiatric hospital and/or in the psychiatry department of a general hospital, one (1) year of which must have included clinical supervision of other psychiatrists, psychiatric residents, or fellows.
