Psychiatric Technician
Requirements
- Pyschiatric Technician I - High School Diploma/GED with completion of 12 semester hours of college coursework in a mental health or a related field OR 6 months of work experience in mental health or a related field.
- Pyschiatric Technician II - Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, social work, human services, or a related field.
- Ability to physically intervene in the provision of care to individuals is required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- An active and unrestricted driver's license is required.
- Experience with adults in residential and/or community settings is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Safely and respectfully manage agitated consumers with appropriate use of de-escalation techniques.
- Complete clear and accurate documentation.
- Provide care and treatment in a manner that considers the rights, safety, comfort and overall therapeutic environment for consumers.
- Report all consumer crisis and or unusual incidents immediately to the Program Director/ Supervisor.
- Support individuals in the performance of household activities (cleaning, organizing, laundry, etc).
- Teach and promote various activities of daily living (money management, hygiene, time management, keeping a schedule, social and leisure activities, etc).
- Assist in developing and implementing activities to increase skills in independent and community living, socialization/leisure time and to build on strengths to promote positive growth for the consumer.

- Must have a valid and unrestricted driver's license.

Pay
- $19.23/hour with a Bachelor’s degree (up to $23.23–$24.23 with shift differentials).
- $16.75/hour with a high school diploma/GED (up to $20.75–$21.75 with shift differentials).
Schedule
- 2nd Shift: 4:00 PM–12:00 AM (Week 1: Sun, Tue–Fri; Week 2: Tue–Sat)
- 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM–11:00 (Week 1: Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri, Sat; Week 2: Sun, Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri)
