About the role
The Stabilization Training Assistance Re-Integration (STAR) homes provide residential and therapeutic support to adolescents and adults with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities experiencing acute crises. Staff members aim to empower individuals through person-centered approaches.
Responsibilities
- Provide general behavioral training and psychiatric nursing care to STAR consumers.
- Perform on-site direct care and participate in recreational activities with consumers.
- Train community home staff or family members to maintain continuity of care.
- Maintain credentials for a Psychiatric Technician Assistant license and attend required trainings.
Requirements
Valid California Drivers License (CDL) is required, and a Drug Screening and Background Investigation must be passed prior to employment. A Certified Nurse Assistant Certificate is also required.
Qualifications
At least six months' prior experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities who have challenging behavior service needs is highly desirable. Must possess and maintain sufficient strength, agility, endurance, and sensory ability to perform the duties contained in this duty statement.
Skills
Knowledge of basic nursing care methods and techniques, competence in cultural sensitivity, positive behavioral support, trauma-informed care, coaching skills training, person-centered practices, and utilizing less restrictive techniques to address behavioral issues.

$3,800.00 - $4,360.00
