Responsibilities
- Deliver patient care
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living
- Provide secretarial support
- Lead and direct code secure activities
- Observe patients and report unusual circumstances
- Organize, prioritize, and provide nursing care
- Admit and discharge patients, document according to unit standards
- Conduct patient safety rounds
- Perform activities of daily living and assist with meeting nutritional needs
- Provide patient treatments as delegated
- Treat patients with respect and dignity
- Manage patients with potential for aggressive or combative behavior
- Participate in quality management activities
- Contribute to performance improvement activities
- Participate in cost containment measures
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED
- De-escalation training must be successfully completed within 4 months of hire and then maintained going forward
- Valid Virginia State Drivers license required in the NRV to transport patients
- Experience with or the ability to manage patients with explosive potential and/or escalating situations
- Able to function with minimum supervision, recognizing the need for direction and assistance in situations beyond his/her scope of capabilities
- Able to learn and participate as a team member
- Ability to work with child, adolescent, and adult populations understanding their growth and development
