About the Role
Outpatient Behavioral Health Psychiatric Technician provides direct patient care and clinician support in adult ambulatory behavioral health higher level of care programs, including Partial Hospital, Intensive Outpatient, and Extended Day Treatment. This role involves implementing individual behavior plans, facilitating skill-based groups, and monitoring patients in the program milieu.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct care to participants in a developmentally appropriate manner, creating a safe, trauma-free, accepting therapeutic environment.
- Offers case management support, including collateral contacts related to insurance, entitlements, school and agency schedules, setting up appointments, gathering medical/psychiatric records, and correspondence with family members and community providers.
- Prepares clinical rooms for daily programs, including setting up and breaking down furniture and group equipment/materials for psycho-education groups.
- Co-facilitates psychoeducation groups, supporting primary clinicians by taking attendance, documenting group activities, assisting with behavioral management, and utilizing treatment plan interventions.
- Monitors patient behavior to ensure safety during all program activities, including arrival/departures, meals, breaks, outdoor activities, offsite field trips, and transportation.
- Completes documentation for collateral contacts and psychoeducation/life skill groups, meeting Joint Commission, state regulatory, and corporate compliance criteria.
- Attends and participates in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, staff development meetings, and mandatory department/hospital meetings.
- Follows all established department and hospital policies and procedures, including continuing education requirements.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or extensive work experience in behavioral health settings.
- Bachelor's degree in behavioral health or related field preferred.
- One year of experience in a behavioral health, residential, or school setting.
- CPI certification.

Mon: 4:00 AM - 8:30 AM
Tues: 1:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Wed: 1:30 PM - 7:00 PM
Thurs: 1:30 PM - 8:30 PM
