Psychiatric Rehabilitation Specialist
Salary range: $43,000–$48,000, dependent on experience. $2,000 bonus for CPRP certification. Location: both on-site and in the community as needed.
About the role
To provide Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services facility-based and/or in the community as assigned. To deliver groups/units that enhance individuals’ knowledge and help develop, enhance, and retain skills and competencies in living, learning, working, and socializing. To help individuals access the services and supports they choose so they can live in the environment of their choice. To monitor and track progress of individuals in assigned caseload and participate in the development of individualized rehabilitation plans.
Responsibilities
- Provide and facilitate individual skill development and support in daily living, socialization, educational/vocational supports, leisure/recreation activities planning, community integration, and community connections.
- Maintain and monitor an assigned caseload of individuals.
- Participate in the analysis and identification of service delivery gaps, changes, and problems under supervisor guidance.
- Consistently meet productivity expectations set by administration, department, and funding sources.
- Participate in the resolution of crisis situations; assist with identifying individuals and resources for direct support and/or immediate intervention.
- Establish and maintain liaisons with other service providers to promote program coordination and enhance individual services.
- Participate in relevant training to enhance professional growth, with an emphasis on psychiatric rehabilitation services and evidence-based practices.
- May participate in program planning and development sessions, as well as practice guidelines and standards.
- Act as an advocate and encourage individuals to assume a proactive role in their rehabilitative process, including mastery of skills.
- Attend staff and other meetings related to individuals’ overall growth and development.
- Assist with special projects, reports, and program planning.
- May provide supplemental coverage and/or fill-in for other programmatic services as needed.
- Provide transitional employment support/coverage for individuals in various settings.
- Perform other duties related to the enhancement of program service delivery.
- May require crisis intervention for emergency situations.
- Flexible work hours to cover expanded program structured services, including evenings and weekends.
- May provide support to participants traveling for conferences, workshops, and leisure, which may include overnight stays.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or any area of Human Services.
- Two (2) years of work experience in mental health direct service, one (1) of which must be in Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services (PRS).
- Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (CPRP) certification required; must be attained within two (2) years of hire if not currently possessed.
- Or a CPRP designation.
- Drug and alcohol experience a plus.
- Creative therapeutic specialties such as Music, Art, Dance, and Recreation a plus.

Pay

Flexible work hours to cover expanded program structured services, including evenings and weekends. May include overnight stays for participant travel.
