Psychiatric Registered Nurse, ACT & FACT Teams- $1,500 Sign-On Bonus

Responsibilities

Conduct person-centered comprehensive health assessments.
Develop and implement strength-based treatment plans that are responsive to client needs and facilitate achievement of goals on an as needed basis.
Oversee all aspects of medication management in compliance with agency procedures and protocols.
This includes administration of injectable medications, managing Clozaril protocols, ordering of medication, overseeing processes for medication distribution, utilizing a medication step system towards client self-management, and managing all aspects of the medication room.
Develop and maintain trusting and supportive relationships with clients, families, and community providers.
Provide support, treatment, case management, community advocacy, and linkage services, per the treatment plan.
Complete required documentation of interventions as well as client's responses and outcomes.
Readily respond to all crisis situations and urgent needs using sound clinical judgement in order to ensure the safety and well-being of the individual.
Provide on-call crisis intervention services on a rotating schedule amongst team members.
Always act to ensure client's safety, readily assess needs, provide support, and intervene immediately as needed.
Client services in the community include visits to clients' apartments which can be on the second and third floors.
Provide transportation to clients when necessary, using agency vehicles.

Requirements

Skills/Qualifications for the Psychiatric Registered Nurse:

• Licensed Registered Professional Nurse by New York State
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
• Three years' experience in a psychiatric setting, with at least one year's experience in an outpatient setting is preferred
• A strong commitment to the rights and ability of each person with a mental illness to make their own decisions and choices, live in the community, work, and have access to continuous support and services to enhance wellness
• Effective working with all people and demonstrating skills and competence to establish supportive and trusting relationships with all individuals
• Upholding individuals' rights and personal preferences in treatment and treating everyone with respect and dignity
• Continuous acting as a guest in individuals' homes and family homes, being courteous, polite, and an active listener
• A valid and insurable NYS driver's license
• Having access and willingness to use their personal vehicle to attend client/member meetings in the community and meetings outside the office/program
