About the role

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Missouri is seeking a full-time, licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their growing Psychiatry team. The position will hold a title of Nurse Practitioner Specialty Care II or Physician Assistant Specialty Care II.

Responsibilities

  • Treatment of patients in a variety of settings including inpatient care at the University of Missouri Psychiatric Hospital (MUPC), 24/7 emergency and hospital consultative services, and outpatient adult and child clinics.
  • Collaboration with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive mental health care.
  • Assessment, diagnosis, and management of psychiatric conditions using evidence-based practices.
  • Documentation of patient care in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards.

Requirements

  • Physician Assistant (PA) licensure by the Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts.
  • Education: Graduation from a certified NP/PA program and Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant licensure in the state of Missouri.
  • Credentials: AP/MHNP, F/MHNP, CAQ-Psychiatry, PA-C, strong background in mental/behavioral health.
  • At least 2 years of experience or completion of a Psychiatry PA/NP Fellowship is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a certified NP/PA program.
  • Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant licensure in the state of Missouri.
  • AP/MHNP, F/MHNP, CAQ-Psychiatry, PA-C, strong background in mental/behavioral health.
  • Experience in treating patients in various psychiatric settings.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records and mental health assessment tools.

Pay

Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000 annually

Schedule

Shift: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
