About the role

Work in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team—including psychiatrists, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, mental health technicians, social workers, therapists, and educators—to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans. Establish empathy and a person-centered approach to patients, recognize personal limitations, and respond effectively to difficult situations. Operate in a self-motivated and independent manner while maintaining excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both team members and clients.

  • Complete follow-up visits after initial assessment.
  • Participate in weekly staffing and family sessions as needed.
  • Prescribe pharmacologic interventions as necessary.
  • Review all applicable laboratory and diagnostic test results.
  • Consult with attending psychiatrist when necessary.
  • Make referrals for further diagnostic psychological or medical testing as needed.
  • Communicate with patients, patients’ families, and others to gather personal and social information pertinent to treatment.
  • Prepare documentation in accordance with Hospital for Behavioral Medicine policies and all regulatory and accrediting bodies.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Master’s Program (Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner) from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the State of Massachusetts.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in a psychiatric setting.
  • Successful completion of CPR certification and CPI training within 30 days of employment prior to assisting with restraining procedures.

Pay

This is a full-time role with an expected compensation range of $155,000.00 - $165,000.00 annually. Consideration will be provided based on experience and skill level.
