Essential Functions

• Participate in morning meetings and staff meetings.
• Evaluate need for psychotropic medication; prescribe medications as needed, educates clients and relatives about these medications and their effects, reviews and adjusts dose level as needed, and documents all medications in consumer’s electronic chart.
• Complete psychiatric evaluations and updates.
• Conduct visits in the community in accordance with NYS Office of Mental Health (OMH) licensing standards.
• Cookordination consumer access to medications with the RN and LPN nurses including administering injectable medications when needed.
• Order routine blood work and/or toxicology testing as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in advanced nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program;
• Current license in NYS as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner;
• NYS license as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum of three (3) years working with people with serious mental health conditions, co-occurring substance use disorders, and homelessness.
