Position Summary

Provide direct nursing services, mental health assessments, and treatment to the people we serve with severe and persistent mental illness. You will obtain, record, and communicate important clinical information, and provide clinical services within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Department Specific Details

  • The Walk-In Crisis Center is open 24/7/365 and provides in-person mental health crisis care, information and referrals right when you need it the most.
  • The Behavioral Health Solutions Center is a 24/7/365 first responder drop-off location for individuals in the community experiencing a behavioral health crisis.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Psychiatric Nurse I (LPN): $30.12 - $31.62/hour
  • Psychiatric Nurse II (RN): $39.06 - $40.56/hour
  • Psychiatric Nurse III (BSN): $43.08 - $44.08/hr
  • Awake Overnight Differential: $3/hour
  • Float Differential: $2.00/hr
  • Language Differential: $2.50/hr for bilingual proficiency in Spanish & ASL

Job Duties & Functions

  • Provide psychological problem identification, crisis interventions, and similar services to assigned patients.
  • Provide limited case management services to people we serve as needed.
  • Assist consumers with psychological and social development and rehabilitation.
  • Coordinate consumer's use of other WellPower programs and outside community resources.
  • Cookordinate medical care and intervention with other clinical staff and psychiatrist(s).
  • Draw blood for lab work for patients.
  • Monitor consumer's vital signs.
  • Periodically provide community injections.
  • Administer medications including intramuscular medications.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records consistent with WellPower standards.
  • Participate in team/organization meetings, in-services, and supervisory sessions as required.
  • Maintain a trauma informed environment of wellbeing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Psychiatric Nurse I:
    • Graduation from accredited school of nursing.
    • Licensed as a Practical Nurse in good standing with the Board of Nursing of the State of Colorado.
    • Experience: 1-3 years of experience working with patients with a serious and persistent mental illness (preferred).
  • Psychiatric Nurse II:
    • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado.
    • License must be in good standing.
    • Experience: Minimum two years nursing experience; experience in a behavioral health or outpatient clinic (preferred).

Physical Requirements

  • Standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, repetitive hand/finger motions, manual dexterity.
  • Requires fine motor skills required for precise clinical procedures.
  • Requires visual and auditory acuity to observe patient behavior and respond to alarms and calls.
  • Requires a capacity to handle emotionally charged situations and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Requires critical thinking and problem-solving skills for diagnosis and treatment planning, and to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing patient needs.
