Psychiatric Nurse

About the role

As a Registered Nurse (RN) at Devereux Arizona’s Residential Treatment Center (RTC), you will provide direct daily medical management for adolescents aged 7 to 17 experiencing emotional, behavioral, or substance abuse challenges. The RTC is a 24-hour, 10-acre campus in Scottsdale featuring dormitories, a therapeutic K-12 day school, food services, medical/nursing, and therapy services.

Your role includes reviewing and following up with medical providers on medication effectiveness and side effects, supervising safety and crisis intervention, enforcing infection control protocols, and managing general medical care for the campus population. You will also maintain communication with all direct care departments and provide education/training for personnel involved in the Medication Technician Certification Program at the Group Home Level.

Responsibilities

• Supervise safety issues and crisis intervention for the campus population.
• Enforce infection control protocols.
• Maintain effective communication with all departments involved in direct care.
• Provide education and training for direct care personnel in the Medication Technician Certification Program.

Requirements

• Current valid RN license to practice in Arizona with no restrictions.
• Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Six (6) months of nursing experience required.
• Previous behavioral health experience with children/adolescents or pediatric nursing preferred.
• Excellent communication, relationship management, and multitasking skills.
• Must attend mandatory two (2) weeks of paid New Hire Orientation (Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:00pm), followed by on-the-job training.
• Must be 21 years of age or older (per licensing standards).
• Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 36-month history check.
• Pre-employment physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable).
• Drug test within 24 hours of offer with negative results.
• Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions).

Pay

Pay Range: $38/hr - $41.80/hr.

Shift Differentials: $2/hr for 3:00pm - 11:00pm; $4/hr for 11:00pm-7:00am.

Schedule

Various full-time schedules available, including 3x12 shifts and overnights.
