About the role
The Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse to join the Assertive and Community Treatment (ACT) team. This grant-funded position will provide crisis intervention, substance use treatment, intensive case management, and individual and group treatment services to adults with Serious Mental Illness (SMI).
Responsibilities
- Provide crisis intervention, substance use treatment, intensive case management, and individual and group treatment services to adults with Serious Mental Illness (SMI).
- Work under the direction of the team Psychiatrist and program manager.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that provides services both out in the community and in a clinic setting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Virginia.
- Current certification as a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse (PMHNP).
- Experience working with individuals with Serious Mental Illness (SMI).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Experience in community-based mental health settings.
- Knowledge of community resources and services relevant to individuals with SMI.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Skills
- Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
Schedule
The schedule for this position is flexible and may include evenings and weekends.
