Role: Provide professional nursing care in a mental health/psychiatric setting, assessing and managing patients across pediatric to geriatric age groups. Responsibilities Include Interviewing, examining, and evaluating patients with various emotional, cognitive, and behavioral disorders.Observing patient behavior, performing triage and crisis interventions, and documenting symptoms and treatment responses.Developing and implementing individualized care and treatment plans, administering medications, and coordinating therapies.Educating patients and families on treatment regimens, side effect management, and ensuring compliance.Facilitating communication among healthcare providers, patients, and families, and maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment.Following departmental policies, participating in professional development, and assisting with administrative and quality improvement tasks.Supporting emergency measures, assisting with tests/procedures, and maintaining patient safety and environmental standards. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN licensure in NM or reciprocal jurisdiction.CPR/BLS certification within 30 days.Possess or obtain Aggressive Behavior Certification within 30 days.Experience in mental health nursing preferred; bilingual skills a plus.Physical ability to perform heavy work, including moving patients or objects, and adherence to safety protocols regarding hazardous materials and communicable diseases.
