Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

You are a compassionate and patient-centered Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about improving mental health outcomes through evidence-based care. You bring strong clinical judgment, diagnostic expertise, and a collaborative approach to patient care.

What You'll Do

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, obtain detailed psychiatric and medical histories, assess mental status, establish diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, referral sources, and support staff to ensure continuity of care and optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical records in accordance with organizational policies, state and federal regulations, HIPAA requirements, and professional standards
• Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications as clinically appropriate while evaluating treatment effectiveness, side effects, and patient adherence
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, lifestyle modifications, and available community resources
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer reviews, staff meetings, and continuing education activities to support best practices and organizational goals
• Assess and manage psychiatric crises, evaluate suicide and safety risks, develop appropriate intervention plans, and coordinate higher levels of care when necessary
• Provide supportive counseling, psychoeducation, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions within the scope of practice while reinforcing treatment goals and patient engagement

What You'll Bring

• Active and unrestricted Florida PMHNP-BC and APRN licensure
• DEA registration and prescriptive authority in good standing
• 5+ years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred
• 1+ year of psychiatric experience required
• Experience treating patients with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, schizophrenia, and other psychiatric conditions
• Ability to work a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week
• Flexibility to work occasional weekends as needed, with total scheduled hours remaining at 40 hours per week
• Ability to travel between practice locations and hospital settings as required
• Strong diagnostic, assessment, and medication management skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient engagement abilities
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and clinical documentation
• Bilingual English/Spanish
