Pay

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality assurance programs
  • Develops and implements nursing policies and procedures
  • Serves as liaison between nursing/medical services and other disciplines
  • Assumes leadership of nursing personnel (RN, LPN, STNAs, and support personnel) on designated nursing unit
  • Prepares for on-site clinical and operational audits and annual surveys
  • Assists with development and monitoring of quality improvement projects and clinical metrics
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates the agency’s Wound Care Program
  • Acts as a resource person to department heads/supervisors and the agency
  • Leads the investigating, tracking, and reporting of sentinel events and adverse events
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Current license as a registered professional nurse in the state of Ohio as issued by the Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of Revised Code
  • 36 months of experience in psychiatric nursing or delivery of nursing services to persons with developmental disabilities
  • Completion of an undergraduate core program in nursing
  • 18 months of training or experience in supervision
  • 18 months of training or experience in management
  • 12 months of training or experience in counseling
  • 12 months of training or experience in public relations

Equivalent of the minimum class qualifications for employment may be substituted for the experience requirements, but not for the mandated licensure.

Unusual Working Conditions

  • May be required to stand for extended periods of time
  • May be required to lift heavy objects from time to time
  • May be exposed to a variety of bodily fluids and infectious diseases from residents
