About the role

Fairview is seeking a Psychiatric Associate to join their Adult Mental Health unit at Station 12. Station 12 is an intensive treatment center providing 24-hour care for high acuity mental health patients with co-occurring medical issues. The position offers opportunities to learn from experienced colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Maintains safety of patient and staff through visual observation, documentation, and participation in de-escalation and milieu management.
• Performs basic patient daily living routines and procedures according to treatment plan.
• Conducts educational programming with individual and/or patient groups.
• Responds to emergency situations as trained.
• Participates in the treatment team’s mission, goals, and plans.
• Exhibits verbal communication skills in a timely, thorough, and professional manner.
• Provides light to medium ADL assistance and mobility support.

Requirements

• 2 years of experience in mental health, healthcare, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable individuals or high acuity behavioral needs.
• First aid certification through the American Heart Association if assigned to work on a chemical dependency unit.
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Association, Red Cross, or MTN).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Health Care, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
• Experience in inpatient, ED, behavioral health, EMT/paramedic, emergency medical services, or other related higher acuity settings.
