Job Duties

  • Provide outpatient oncology-based individual, couples, and family psychotherapy for patients and families affected by cancer.
  • Conduct brief cognitive assessments to evaluate cognitive and emotional functioning in oncology populations.
  • Participate in oncology interprofessional clinics as part of coordinated, multidisciplinary patient care.
  • Complete pre-blood and marrow transplant and cellular therapy psychological evaluations to support treatment readiness and care planning.
  • Provide crisis consultation and psychological support for patients and families experiencing acute distress.
  • Provide inpatient oncology consultation-liaison services in collaboration with medical teams across the health system.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary care coordination with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals in oncology settings.
  • Engage in supervised clinical training activities designed to support advanced competencies in clinical health psychology and preparation for independent practice.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or completion of all degree requirements, including a one-year full-time internship from an APA-accredited program.
  • All degree requirements, including successful dissertation defense, must be completed prior to the start of the fellowship.
