PSS / Care Associate- Memory Care (MC)

About the Role

In this role, you will provide assistance to residents in the Memory Care Program with their activities of daily living, enabling them to lead a quality life while maintaining their dignity.

Responsibilities

• Provide kind, caring, and consistent companionship and support to residents.
• Assist, encourage, and use restorative interventions, as needed, for Memory Care residents to promote independence in activities of daily living, including but not limited to:
  • Bathing
  • Dressing
  • Grooming
  • Toileting
  • Feeding
  • Mobility
• Participate in and lead one-on-one and group activities.
• Serve residents during mealtime, assist with memory care laundry, and perform basic housekeeping within the memory care neighborhood.
• Ensure timely response and follow-up to resident, family, and employee concerns to provide a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors, and co-workers.

Requirements

• Experience working with seniors with dementia, including participation in activities, is preferred.
• Acceptable proficiency in English to perform job duties, communicate with supervisors and other employees, and respond to emergency situations.
• CNA or CHHA license may be required depending on the state.
• Basic computer skills; proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and Word is required.
• Compassionate, kind, engaging, and helpful personality.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination unless exempt due to medical, religious, or personal beliefs (government requirements or exclusions may apply).
