PSR Instructor / Driver (34-70)

About the role

Provides a combination of duties related to both driving and instruction for the psychosocial rehabilitation (PSR) program. The primary responsibility is transporting PSR members to and from home, the program, appointments, social activities, and community resources as needed. Secondary duties involve acting as an instructor who provides education and guidance to PSR members, encouraging them to fulfill their goals and function at their highest potential following a core set of principles and values. The instructor will teach members daily using pre-approved materials and a National curriculum on various aspects of treatment and topics of interest.

• Knowledge of New Mexico behavioral health systems.
• Ability to engage peers in recovery plan.
• Good written and communication skills.
• Uses good judgment as it relates to PSR clients.
• Knowledge of confidentiality, ethics, and boundary issues related to peer support.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Rehabilitation, Education, or a related human services field from an accredited university and one year of relevant experience with the target population, or
• Hold an Associate’s degree in a human services or related field from an accredited university plus two years of relevant experience with the target population and functional areas taught, or
• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and four years of relevant experience with the target population and functional areas taught.
