Driver Instructor
About the Role
We are seeking a CDL Driver Instructor for Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials in Florida. Candidates should reside in the Tampa/Sarasota area or the Jacksonville/Gainesville area. The Instructor will train drivers in the safe and efficient operation of ready‑mix trucks while also performing deliveries to residential and industrial job sites. Duties include coordinating with Dispatch and Batch Plant Supervisors, maintaining equipment cleanliness and performing minor maintenance, supporting safe batch‑plant operations, and ensuring strict safety procedures when backing and working alongside Material Spotters/Dump Men. When not mentoring another driver, the Instructor will work as a Ready‑Mix Driver.

- Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and relationship skills.
- Serve as a team player and role model for the company and its mission.
- Communicate effectively with customers and represent the company appropriately.
- Maintain a basic understanding of quality control.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Possess thorough operational knowledge of mixer trucks and related equipment.
- Keep accurate time and material records.
- Follow verbal and written instructions.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively on the radio system and use the truck tracking system correctly and efficiently.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of Ready‑Mix driving experience.
- Valid state commercial driver’s license (CDL) – Class A or B.
- Residency in the Tampa/Sarasota area or the Jacksonville/Gainesville area is preferred.
