About the role

The Patient Services Representative performs general business office functions that may include charge capture and over-the-counter payment posting, insurance verification and eligibility, insurance pre-authorization/pre-certifications, counseling patients and families on insurance and payment issues prior to surgery, ensuring all insurance, demographic, and eligibility information is obtained from patients and entered into the billing system in an accurate and timely manner, registering patients in the system, collecting and revising all patient insurance information, collecting co-pays, deductibles and other out of pocket amounts at the time of service, posting approved adjustments to patient accounts, balancing receipts, reconciling daily work batches, and preparing audit trail.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• College degree a plus
• Two years minimum front office experience in a medical environment
