PSR Associate
The PSR Associate is responsible for the daily operations of the Clubhouse, working side by side with members in a setting that promotes recovery through meaningful work.
Compensation Range
The starting pay for this position is $17.00 - $21.00 hourly rate, and is based on non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience.
General Responsibilities
- Participate as part of a treatment and rehabilitation team to support effective program operations and service delivery.
- Work collaboratively within Clubhouse Units such as Food Service, Janitorial, Clerical, Employment, Transportation, and Member Services during the work-ordered day.
- Engage members 1:1 as partners in meaningful work; provide coverage at Transitional Employment sites when a member is unavailable.
- Create a workday environment that feels inviting, creative, and fulfilling for members—promoting participation, community, and a strong sense of clubhouse culture consistent with Clubhouse International Standards.
- Take initiative in identifying and facilitating work opportunities for members within the Clubhouse.
- Provide transportation to members as needed.
- Ensure adherence to fidelity-based Clubhouse International Standards, including participation in weekend and holiday programming as required.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the Michigan Mental Health Code and Recipient Rights.
- Always uphold professional boundaries and consumer confidentiality.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and within established timelines.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Solicit clarification or direction when needed to support program success.
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills when interacting with members, staff, partner providers, Home Operators, and community groups.
- Assist the Clubhouse Supervisor and PSR Generalists with special projects as assigned.
- Support and model customer service expectations.
- Utilize de-escalation skills to respond appropriately to confrontational, antagonistic, or hostile behavior.
- Participate in required staff development and mandatory CNS educational programs.
- Demonstrate competency in key dimensions for this classification, as defined by agency standards.
- Maintain proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and navigate electronic medical records effectively.
- Rotate with staff for evening/Saturday programs and designated holiday shifts.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Some college level courses are preferred.
- Minimum one (1) year experience in working with adults with serious mental illness.
- Valid Michigan Driver’s license and good driving record.
- Transportation or automobile accessibility with current auto insurance.
- Basic understanding of principles of psychosocial rehabilitation.
- Understanding of Michigan Mental Health Code and Recipient Rights.
- Excellent customer service orientation skills are necessary to deal effectively with various levels of agency personnel, outside customers, and community groups.
- Working knowledge of applicable Preferred Education, Skills And Experience
- Some College level courses preferred.
