About the Role
Provide security for patients, employees, and visitors; protect hospital buildings, assets, and premises as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- 2 - 3 years experience in a Healthcare Security assignment and/or Law Enforcement Field, or equivalent background with a guard service company or military police (Required)
- Active Law Enforcement Certification in the State of Georgia
Responsibilities
- Investigate and make arrests as necessary.
- Maintain familiarity with disaster plans, fulfilling role as outlined and document actions taken during emergencies.
- Conduct on-scene investigations, making arrests if appropriate.
- Handle patient and visitor control incidents.
- Use restraints when necessary with minimum force.
- Adhere to hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.
- Perform all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission, and vision of the organization.
- Perform other duties as required and complete all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain current knowledge in present areas of responsibility through self-education and attending ongoing educational programs.
- Attend staff meetings and complete mandatory in-services, requirements, and competency evaluations on time.
- Demonstrate competency in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
- For non-clinical areas, attend training and demonstrate usage of age-specific customer service skills.
- Wear protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
